Over the Falls Deli: Go Greek

Where: Over the Falls Deli, Wake Forest, NC

GF Menu: No.

What I ate: The Greek Burger with homemade potato chips.

How to order it: Ask the always-accommodating and friendly staff for the Greek Burger without the bun. Be sure to ask for utensils so you can cut your bun-less burger.

What it looks like:

1/2 pound Angus burger with feta cheese, black olives, and cucumber sauce for dipping. Salty (feta & olives) and fresh (cucumber sauce) at the same time, this juicy burger comes with lettuce, tomato, red onion slices, and a pickle. The chips are made on-site and are crisp-a-licious. Yes, that is a word.

Green Note: Over the Falls uses reusable plastic baskets lined with foil to serve their food. Many of the menu items in this restaurant are sandwiches, burgers, and pizzas, which require very little cutlery. I’m hoping they will consider using fewer styrofoam drinking cups to serve their tasty iced tea and other beverages. For those interested, eHow has a nice page on “Alternatives to Styrofoam cups”.
