Zayka Indian Cuisine: All-You-Can-Eat Flavors

Where: Zayka Indian Cuisine, 10410 Moncreiffe Road, Ste-104 in Brierdale Shopping Center at Brier Creek

GF Menu: No.

What I ate: All-You-Can-Eat Lunch Buffet + Chai (Indian Masala Tea)

How to order it: Place your drink order and then follow your nose (and the line of people) to the buffet.

Indian food offers a delightful mosaic of colors, flavors, and textures. As a Gluten-Free diner, you’ll want to avoid items that have been fried, as these were most likely battered in a flour mix. You’ll also need to politely decline the offer of the complimentary bread basket of naan.

What it looks like:

“Zayka” means flavors. How true. Pictured here: Basmati Rice, Cucumber Salad, Dal Makhani (made with lentils), Chicken Curry, Korma, Chicken Tikka Saag (spinach-based), and Sweet Mango Chutney. For dessert – a smaller dish of Rice Pudding with a dollop of Mango and Papaya fruit cocktail on top.

As fragrant as they are colorful, these ingredients take their turns stepping out onto your palate in a kaleidoscopic chorus line. Enjoy the show.

I highly recommend the chai. It was not too sweet and the warm spices of cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, star anise, peppercorn, and cloves are comforting no matter the season.

Green Note:

Save Money: When I dined there last, the Lunch Buffet, Monday through Friday, came to $9.99 ($4.99 for children 6 and under). They also offer free delivery service for orders $35 and above.

Save Time: Zayka offers online ordering an hour prior to the closing of lunch or dinner hours.

Save Room: Zayka has a party hall that can hold up to 130 guests. Check their website for conference event rates and private dining party reservations.
